Ki Monastery

Day 01 Arrival / Delhi : Meet and assistance on arrival at airport followed by transfer to hotel for overnight.

Day 02 Delhi - Chandigarh - Manali - (315 km/8-9 hrs drive alt. 1985m) : An Early breakfast drive to New Delhi Railway Station take train to Chandigarh ETD 0720 hrs ETA 1100 hrs. On arrival meet to representative & commence drive to Manali 8-9 hrs, a short break at Bilashpur for lunch. On arrival check into hotel. dinner & overnight at hotel.

Day 03 Manali After breakfast at 0830 hrs, commence Full day tour in-around Manali the "queen of the mountain" situated at an altitude of 1965m. (6730ft) on the west bank of the Bias river, it makes an idyllic stop before heading on over the Rohtang pass the barren mountain landscapes beyond to Lahaul & Ladakh. This rapidly expanding resort caters for both western and Indian people. it is surrounded by lush orchards and dark forests, typical of the fertile Kullu valley and it has enticing views to the north to snow-capped 6000m high peaks. first we take the excursion to Naggar, 22 kms from Manali , Naggar the former capital of the kings of Kullu. perched on a mountain side, the 400 year old castle, built of weathered wood & stone is now a tourist hotel. it has several stone temples dedicated to shiva. Later also walk up to visit the Rhoerich art gallery, situated above the village with beautiful paintings. Return to Manali after visit, en route stop to visit the village of Jagatsukh, Evening Vahsist hot spring & Hadimba temple. Rest of the afternoon free to walk around the town to visit on your own. Overnight at hotel.

Day 04 Manali - Tandi- Keylong - Jispa (120 km/6 hrs 3100m): After breakfast commence drive to Tandi, a small village situated in the heart of Lahaul valley. the drive takes us over the mighty Rohtang pass (3998m). Just cross the Rohatnag descend drive to Lahaul Valley check the passport at Khoksar, continue drive to Lahaul valley is quite rocky & barren & totally opposite to the lush green Kullu valley. The people of this valley are mainly Buddhists & the local society still follows the ancient culture of polygamy !!!! Keylong the capital village of this valley, Keylong is a bustling village & a very interesting market. On the other side of the hill stands the most celebrated monastery of Lahaul called Khardung. continue drive to Jispa, Jipsa is situated 20 km from Keylong in a region described by travelers as strange, exciting and primitive. Set on the banks of the Bhaga river which has sufficient trout to interest keen anglers. Overnight at hotel.

Day 05 Jispa (3100 m) : Full day monasteries visit. Drive back to Keylong a short trek to the monastery Khardang (good for the purpose of acclimatization) after visit return to Keylong & continue ascending trek to Sessuer and later drive to Jispa, enroute visit yet another monastery called Gemur. Late afternoon arrival at Jispa, walk around the village & visit the dalai lama's monastery. meals & overnight at Hotel.

Day 06 : Jispa/Sarchu (4253m) (95 km/ 4 hrs drive) : Morning proceed for Sarchu (the border of Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir States). Serchu(4253 m) is inhabited by a Himalayan clan, GADDI, and a few lonely soldiers at an army out-post. Enroute stop for a while at Baralacha La (4891 m). the word Barhlacha-la means " a pass with cross roads". On arrival check in fix camp, rest of the time explore the windy place evening time this place is very very windy & cold. Overnight at camp enjoy with dinner.

Ladakh

Day 07 Sarchu/Pang (4520m) / Leh (234 km/8 hrs alt 3520 m) : After breakfast commence the early start for Leh. Through the second highest motarable pass Tanglang-La (5330m) From the pass one can see the Karakoram Range & back glance Salt Lake (Tsokar) en route stop at Pang for lunch on arrival by late afternoon check into the hotel for overnight.

Day 08 Leh (Shey/ Thiksey/Hemis) : Full day sightseeing of Shey, Thiksey, Hemis, Shey was the old capital and the home of the kings of Ladakh before the new capital became established in Leh the palace sits in a strategic position on a spur jutting out into the Indus valley. The main temple contains a large Buddha statue sculpted by Nepalese craftsmen. Thiksey, this large gompa is an impressive sight, situated on top of a craggy hill while the rest of the complex sprawls down beneath it. It was founded in the 15th century by Gelukpa monks. Hemis is the most reaches monastery in the valley, this is famous for his annual mosque dance festival, Later drive back to Leh rest of the time walk in the local market........Overnight at hotel.

Day 09 Leh : Am free for individual activities and PM sightseeing of Shankar Gompa, Shanti stupa, & Tsemo Castle. Rest of the time walk in the market for shopping overnight at hotel.

Day 10 Leh/Phyan/Likir (3430m) : After breakfast drive around 52 km/2 hrs towards to Likir, en route visit Phyang monastery, the building of 16th century gompa was ordered by the king Tashi Namgyal, its thought that he was trying to seek forgiveness for buliding his elder brother a devious act that made him heir to the throne and son after king. the gompa is sits in a small hill above the attractive village Likir is sits right side of Leh-Srinagr highway nearby the Indus river. Likir monastery is about an hours walk from Likir village, the gompa was built in 1065 but the original structure was destroyed by fire so the building you see present time about 200 years old the monk are the gelukpa order. visit the monastery commence the trek the way it is more interestin to take the small path which descends steeply to the Likir Topko just after the chorten pitch the tent for o/n. Rest of the time visit the village. overnight at camp.

Day 11 Likir/Yangthang (3600m) 3-4 hrs trek, the small spread over village situated on the banks of the Likir Topko, a tributary of the Indus, is a lovely place to come to after the hustle and bustle of Leh the track descends gradually to this prosperous-looking village fellow the signposted path opposite set the camp, primary school. over night at camp. Rest of the time visit the monastery & village.

Day 12 Yangthang/ Rizong/ Hemis-Sukhpachen (3340m) : 4-5 hrs trek, after breakfast commence trek to Rizong the way is just descending till the Rizong along with the small gorges plenty of trees. On arrival in front of Rizong gompa the view is very unique. Visit the monastery than again steep ascending till the pass 4200m. from there one can see the nice view of Hemis-Sukhpachen village. Rest time explore the village. o/n camp.

Day 13 Hemis-Sukhpachen/ Themsigang / Ang (3200m): 4 hrs trek, to pick-up the trail again cross the pasture in a north-west direction skirting the left side of the fields. Just after passing some chortens the trail divides. Take the right fork that passes the mature cedar trees. Theisgam is the largest, most prosperous village on this trek. set almost the fertile fields and spreading orchards there are some fine examples of large village. Set the tent near-by the village.

Ladakh Festival

Day 14 Ang/ Khalse/ Basgo : 2 hrs trek, After breakfast commence trek, to words the road head at Khalse when you arrive by road you may wounderful place you are greeted by a collection of run-down tea stall and reach the road head the jeep drive you to Basgo en route visit Alchi Gompa. Overnight at Basgo at Local house. Witness the rearl Ladakhi life... enjoy the folk song, folk dance & local food.

Day 15 Basgo/Leh (3450 m): After breakfast drive to Leh en route visit the Spituk Gompa. On arrival check in the hotel for Overnight. Rest of the day leisure for individual activities.

Day 16 Leh : (Optional Rafting) Optional Rafting in Indus River. Rest of the day leisure for individual activities as shopping ect.. Overnight hotel.

Day 17 Leh/ Delhi/ Agra : Early morning Take the flight to Delhi ETD 0735 hrs. On arrival meet to assistance & drive to 225 km/4 hrs to Agra. On arrival check in hotel rest of the time visit the small narrow street on the Taj City. Overnight at hotel.

Day 18 Agra/ Delhi : Early morning visit the Taj in the Sun Rise. Return to hotel take breakfast & proceed to Red Fort. Later drive to Delhi straight to international airport.

Day 19 Delhi Dep. : In time dep. Transfer to onward destination.
