Cycling in the Shadow of the
Kanchenjunga Peak
From Delhi, we will fly you to the nearest
airport called Bagdogra, set on the foothills of Darjeeling, a short three hours
bus ride gets us into the beautiful town of Darjeeling, which gives most Indians
its daily cup of morning Tea. Its from here that you will set off on a
tour that will give you a glimpse of worlds highest mountain peak
the Mount Everest & other Himalayan giants!
From
Darjeeling you will ride past the villages of Tonglu, Sandakphu and Phalut,
from where the great peaks will begin to play hide-and-seek with you. Its
hard to describe the experience of riding along, with the snowy peaks of Everest,
Lhotse, Makalu and Kanchenjunga watching over you from a distance!!!!!!
A ride through the lush tea gardens will take you to Gangtok, the capital of
the state of Sikkim. The tour will end in the city of Kalimpong.
Cycling Through Little Tibet
Manali / Lahaulspiti / Kinnaur
Most of the cycle tours are operated on off beaten tracks in remote part of
the himalayas and the cycle tour is designed with a main objective or aim towards
the end trip. For example the manali-leh cycle tour ends up at the highest motorable
pass in the world " khardungla (18370 ft). A great achievement for clients
to cycle to over 18000ft.
In
the himalaya we cover a distance of about 50-60 kms on an average per day, each
cycle touris coverd by a backup jeep which trails the last cyclist and carries
the cycle mechanic, first aid box and other necessary spares & most important
the hot lunch, which is served at a convenient spot during mid day. The main
crew which consists of a cook, camp assistants, go ahead in a separate vehicle
to set up camp at predefined end point for the particular day.
